Glastonbury 2024: how to get tickets in the re-sale and everything you need to know

the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2023

We’re just 10 weeks away from the gates to Glastonbury 2024 being thrown open for another weekend of magic. Glasto 2023 saw 200,000 people head down to Worthy Farm for the UK’s biggest festival. Now, this week will be your last change to get tickets to the festival in the re-sale – and it all kicks off tonight.

The Somerset-based festival is renowned not just for being one of the biggest festivals in the world but also one of the hardest to get tickets for. It started when coach and ticket packages sold out in 25 minutes, and then the general ticket sale sold out in just under an hour. But don’t worry – all hope is not lost.

The Glastonbury 2024 line-up has now been shared – with confirmation that Dua LipaColdplay and SZA will headline the iconic Pyramid Stage this summer. Shania Twain, meanwhile, will perform in the coveted legends slot on the Sunday. Check out the rest of the bill here.

Tickets for Glastonbury 2024 first went on sale in November, and the re-sale has been confirmed for this week. Here’s all the information you need to help you secure passes for this year’s festival.

When will Glastonbury 2024 take place?

It has been announced that, keeping with tradition, next year’s festival will be taking place on the final weekend of June from Wednesday June 26 through to Sunday June 30, 2024 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.

How much will tickets for Glastonbury 2024 be?

Standard tickets for Glastonbury 2024 will cost £355 plus a £5 booking fee. As is now tradition, you can pay a £75 deposit per attendee before paying the full balance in the first week of April.

If you’re buying coach tickets with your festival ticket, you must pay for the coach ticket in full at the time of purchase. Coach ticket prices vary depending on departure point, but typically sit between £40 and £150.

When will the ticket re-sale for Glastonbury 2024 be?

If you missed out on tickets in the first two sales, there’s still a chance to grab tickets in the re-sale. These are tickets where the original purchasers haven’t paid their balance in full by the cut-off date in early April and will be put back up for sale.

Glasto have now announced the re-sale date for 2024, with ticket and coach travel packages are set to become available at 6pm BST onThursday (April 18), with general admission tickets going live at 9am BST the following Sunday (April 21).

Any cancelled accommodation options (Worthy View, Sticklinch, Campervan/Caravan passes) will then go on sale at 11am BST on April 21.

Those wanting to purchase tickets in either re-sale will need to be registered to do so beforehand. “If you are not registered, we advise registering by Friday April 12 to allow for the registration to be processed and resubmitted if needed,” a post on Glastonbury’s official website reads.

Ticket and coach travel packages are limited to two per transaction, and general admission tickets are limited to four. A registration number will be required for each ticket you are booking. Visit here for more information.

This comes after Glasto co-organiser Emily Eavis revealed that the festival had seen its “highest percentage of ticket balances paid ever”. “Incredible. Thanks so much everyone,” she added.

“There will be a resale of the (very limited) returned tickets later this month. Info to follow on that.”

Glastonbury’s website previously stated that 2024 ticketholders have from 9am on April 1 until 11.59pm on April 7 to pay off their remaining balance, so the re-sale should take place in the weeks following that. The website reads: “Any tickets for which the balance has not been paid during the balance payment window will be refunded £50 (a £25 admin fee will be retained) automatically onto the card on which they were booked. This should happen within 7 working days of the balance payment period ending.”

Expect there to another hectic rush after re-sale tickets, after Glasto 2023 sold out again in just six minutes back in April last year.

How and when do I to register for tickets to Glastonbury 2024?

Before you can even think about getting in the dreaded online queue for tickets when the on-sale day arrives, you need to register to be able to access tickets. This is a move adopted by Glastonbury to help cut down on touts and means each general admission ticket will come with a photo of the ticket holder printed on it.

You can register on the Glastonbury website here before Friday April 12 to be in with a chance of securing tickets in the re-sale.

Back in August, the festival gave advice for those wishing to get tickets and told fans that any Glastonbury ticket registrations submitted prior to 2020 need to be reviewed and confirmed before the next ticket sale. You can do that here.

When did for Glastonbury 2024 go on general sale?

The first ticket sales for the 2024 festival were delayed by two weeks on November 2. Coach and ticket packages then went on sale at 6pm GMT on Thursday November 16 (and sold out in just 25 minutes) with the general sale following at 9am GMT on Sunday November 19 when they sold out in just under an hour.

How can I get into Glastonbury 2024 for free?

Didn’t manage to get a ticket or simply can’t afford one? There are alternative ways to get into the festival – as long as you’re prepared to put in a bit of work. Numerous charities have a presence at the festival and require volunteers to help out across the weekend. In return for your ticket, you’ll be asked to complete shifts across the festival – the length and number of these vary, depending on which charity you attend with. Be warned: you may have to pay a deposit for your ticket, which can be the same price as the entry to the festival. For more information, visit Glastonbury’s jobs page.

Oxfam also put out a call for charity volunteers at Glastonbury 2024, as well as music fans to help out at Reading & Leeds, Download and more.
