Fontaines D.C.‘s Grian Chatten has made a cameo appearance in Jade Thirlwall’s ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ music video – you can watch it below.
Earlier this year, Fontaines D.C. made their comeback with the punchy ‘Starburster’. Towards the end of the video, we see frontman Chatten make his way into a studio, where a photoshoot is going on with several people dressed as angels. We then get a quick glimpse at a red-headed Jade Thirlwall as she poses for the camera.
Thirlwall isn’t credited in the video, and only recently confirmed her cameo after posted photos of herself sporting an “I’m in a Fontaines D.C. video” t-shirt at Glastonbury.
This past weekend, Thirlwall, who used to be a member of Little Mix, shared the music video for her own track ‘Angel Of My Dreams’. In the video, we see the convergence of both Fontaines D.C.’s ‘Starburster’ clip and her own visuals, confirming that they both exist within the same universe.
Their respective videos overlap, with Grian Chatten making a short appearance in Thirlwall’s video. While in ‘Starbuster’ we see Chatten walk into the photography studio and having a look around the place, ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ depicts the same incident from Thirlwall’s perspective as Chatten looks lost and out of place in the studio.

Fontaines D.C. spoke to NME at Glastonbury 2024, where they addressed their Park Stage headline set’s controversial clash with IDLES’ stellar performance on the Other Stage. They also spoke about their upcoming album ‘ROMANCE’, and the different sides that the album’s singles ‘Starbuster and ‘Favourite’ showcase.
Fontaines D.C. are due to release ‘ROMANCE’ on August 23 via XL Recordings. You can re-order it here.

NME gave their Glastonbury set a five-star review, writing: “Flares, bubble guns and fistfuls of confetti fill the sky, but it’s a mighty singalong to ‘I Love You’ – a song that traverses generational trauma and issues affecting the modern Irish diaspora – that brings everyone together.
“Tears are shed and vocal cords strained, yes, but there’s a shared understanding that there may be teenagers here experiencing the full guts and potency of guitar music for the first time, as well many older fans feeling reinvigorated by this emotional spectacle.”
