Jeremy Allen White has apparently been texting Bruce Springsteen in the hopes of meeting him in London to prepare for his upcoming role.

The Bear star was announced as part of the film in April after Deadline reported that White was the favourite to play a young Springsteen in the film which was announced this January.

The film is reportedly set to explore the making of Springsteen’s classic album ‘Nebraska’. Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Hostiles) will write and direct the film, which is based on Warren Zane’s 2023 book, Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.

Now, to prepare for his role, White has revealed to Variety that he has “texted and emailed” Springsteen in the run up to his Saturday (July 27) show at Wembley.

“I’m really excited to see him perform,” White said, cheekily adding that Springsteen texts “like a boss”.

Meanwhile, The Bear‘s highly-anticipated third season has just dropped, with mixed reviews flooding in.

The Guardian’s Rebecca Nicholson wrote about the first episode’s style: “Dogged repetition is the enemy of convincing storytelling. It needs to move. This means the excellent Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) is somewhat sidelined, both in the storyline and, to some extent, the season. What a waste.”

And in Variety, Alison Herman echoed: “It also tells us nothing we don’t already know, making room for cameos by a slew of culinary legends at the expense of moving the story forward. The structure would work for an extended cold open to establish Carmy’s mood; stretched to an entire episode, it’s an overindulgence.”

In other Bruce Springsteen news, the Boss recently took part in Mark Knopfler’s star-studded charity re-recording of ‘Going Home’, which starred the likes of Queen‘s Brian MayBruce SpringsteenBlack Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, Eric ClaptonRolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood and many more.
