Every week, a rising artist will feature on The Cover – you can read the profile of Fcukers here, written by Ben Jolley and featuring photography by Marisa Bazan.
Accompanying the story is an exclusive playlist that Fcukers have compiled, ‘Go To The Beach’, featuring Soulwax, Beenie Man, Fatboy Slim, Len, Super Beagle and more. Listen to the full playlist on Spotify below and on Apple Music.
After becoming fed up with the music industry during their time in their old bands, Fcukers turned their focus to jamming on sounds they actually wanted to create. The three friends found their passion renewed by throwing out the rules and following their gut – an ethos that ties into the band name, too. “We said ‘It’s for us’,” Jackson Walker Lewis tells NME, “Who cares about commercial viability?”
Since then, the group have become a word-of-mouth sensation whose first ten live shows took them across four continents, from Brooklyn rite-of-passage hotspot Baby’s All Right to a personal invite from Hedi Slimane to perform at Celine’s Paris Fashion Week party. They put how quickly they’ve been able to catch people’s imaginations down to the approach that forms the DNA of the band. “The attitude is to not have people sitting and observing the concert, but really getting into it and dancing,” Ben Scharf says.
