Jason Kelce Dresses Up as Fred Flintstone While Tailgating With Bills Fans

2024 American Century Championship - Day Three

Jason Kelce is being welcomed into the Buffalo Bills family with open arms — and leaning into the Halloween season full throttle.

In a video posted via X ahead of the Bills game against the New York Jets on Monday, October 14, Kelce, 36, could be seen donning a Fred Flintstone costume and a bright blue furry Bills hat while taking Gatorade shots out of a bowling ball.

The former Philadelphia Eagles player, who retired in March after 13 years with the franchise, was also seen rocking his Flintstone outfit on the field, doing a little dance for the camera as he cohosted ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown. In another clip, Kelce explained why he was wearing the iconic character’s signature garb.

“I’m Fred Flintstone!” he said. “I’m part of the water buffalo club. Yabba dabba doo!”

While many NFL fans applauded Kelce’s game day ensemble, some social media users had mixed responses about the “New Heights” podcaster’s getup.

“Is that a Halloween costume or just Jason’s new fashion sense?” wrote one X user, while another said, “Let the guy do what he wants.”

However, many Bills fans appreciated Kelce’s pregame enthusiasm, with one fan writing, “Love how Jason is living the good life. He’s earned every bit of it.” Another wrote, “He should’ve been a Bill.”

Despite announcing his retirement earlier this year, Kelce proved he couldn’t stay away from the excitement of the NFL, as he officially joined the Monday Night Countdown squad in May.

“Turns out, it was a short retirement! I’m excited to join ESPN, and particularly the Monday Night Countdown team,” he said in a press release. “ESPN was a consistent presence in our household growing up and the network helped shape who I am and my love of all sports. To now appear on that same screen is a full circle moment. And, I mean it’s freaking Monday Night Football! and I’m ready for some football.”

After nabbing the Monday Night Countdown gig, Kelce promised “not to s— on” younger brother and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce while discussing his new job on “New Heights.”

“No, I wouldn’t do that to you. If you drop a pass, I’m not going to go out of my way to do that,” he told Travis, 35. He noted, however, that if his brother does a “silly” end zone dance, all bets are off.

Though he joked about teasing his young sibling, Jason couldn’t have been more thankful to join Monday Night Countdown, as it holds sentimental value to the Kelce family.

“Especially when we were growing up, this was the night that everyone thought of with football,” he said. “Now, I’m going to be on there with some incredibly talented people … all these guys offer not just great expertise but wonderful personalities. It’s going to be a good time.”
