Paul Heaton has added extra dates to his forthcoming UK tour, and confirmed that Lightning Seeds will be joining him as special guests for one of them.
The performances will all take place later this year, and come in support of The Housemartins and Beautiful South legend’s new album ‘The Mighty Several’.
Set for release on October 11 – and available for pre-order here – the project has been produced by Ian Broudie and follows his 2022 LP ‘N.K-pop‘ with Jacqui Abbott.
Originally, the tour dates were set to kick off in Bridlington on November 29, and make stops in Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham, Newcastle and more, before concluding with two back-to-back shows at London’s Eventim Apollo on December 10 and 11.
Now, the tour has been extended as Heaton has added three extra shows to the schedule. These include a stop at the P&J Live venue in Aberdeen on Friday, December 13, and a new gig at the Civic Halls in Wolverhampton. The latter marks the second show the singer will play at the venue, with the first taking place on December 4.

The tour will now wrap up with a final show at Manchester’s Co-Op Live on December 16. As well as being the final gig on the tour, this show will also be the only one to see Lightning Seeds join Heaton as special guests. All other shows, including the Manchester date, will see The Zutons act as support.

The update on the tour comes just weeks after Heaton took to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2024, and was joined onstage by both Rianne Downey and former Housemartins bandmate Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim).
Originally formed in 1983, The Housemartins began as a busking duo composed of Heaton and guitarist Stan Cullimore. Cook replaced their original bassist Ted Key, but the band disbanded in 1988 – with each member going on to pursue solo projects. Two years before they split, the band played Glastonbury, which Heaton recently recalled as “mind-blowing”.
Following her appearance alongside Heaton at Worthy Farm, Downey will act as a special guest on ‘The Mighty Several’. Ahead of its release, Heaton dropped the LP’s lead single, ‘Fish ‘N’ Chip Supper’.
